Brief History on the Aussie Bulldog

The Aussie Bulldog breeding program was started by ourselves (Noel & Tina Green) to create a Bulldog unique to Australia .We have put our heart and soul into the Aussie bulldog dating back to our foundation breeding stock  , and later offering guidance for breeders and new puppy owners  to create new lines that now have been interlinked to the original breeding lines to expand on the gene pool in Australia for the benefit of the breed for years to come.

The name Aussie Bulldog came about through discussions between my husband Noel & Myself one Sunday morning in July of  1997 on a small horse and cattle property at Pilton in QLD. A week later putting the first ad into the Brisbane courier mail as Aussie Bulldogs, we had an overwhelming response to the puppies that we had for sale.

We were looking at producing a Bulldog that was unique in looks but not too British looking , functional and versatile with a sound temperament like a British Bulldog and Bullmastiff. Now known fondly years on as The Aussie Bulldog  , more formally The Australian Bulldog.

The Kennel name JAG was then added to our following breed records to distinguish our litters from any others that would follow .J.A.G is the initials of our only son

The original Jag / Greens lines contain Staffy, Boxer, Bullmastiff , Bulldog , eventually moving towards breeding heavily on Bullmastiff and British bulldog bloodlines which lay behind all related dogs today .

The Nobes line dogs were structured differently , which you can view on the Australian bulldog society web site for further information. We do not agree with the choice of breeds used in some lines of Nobes dogs  , however we do support her lines based on Boxer , Bulldog and Bullmastiff Bulldog ancestry .
